Dr SQR Ilyas, National President Welfare Party of India expressed deep anguish at the multiple instances of vandalism by right wing groups targeting the muslim community in Mandsaur, Ujjain and Indore districts of Madhya Pradesh.
Dr Ilyas said rallies were organised by right-wing groups to create awareness for donation towards the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and they ransacked the life, property and places of worship in the BJP ruled state of MP.
He strongly condemned the role of the police who watched it as mute spectator and the role of the godi media for not reporting the crime.
Dr Ilyas said the paradigm shift in the government’s approach towards its minorities is paving way for such incidents of crime with great impunity and said this emerging Intolerant India in a Hindu Rashtra is against the spirit of socialist, secular, democratic republic India as enshrined in the constitution.
He demanded that a fair investigation by sitting judge should be conducted, the culprits should be booked , compensation should be given to the damage caused and no permission should be given for holding such rallies in future.
Dr Ilyas demanded the withdrawal of the unconstitutional Madhya Pradesh Religious Freedom Bill, 2020 that seeks to legitimise violence against Minorities and is creating an environment of hate and intolerance.
