Welfare Party of India shunned the violence in national capital during the farmers tractor rally and for making Republic day a’ dark day of democracy’ with an aim to undermine the farmer’s protest.
National President of Welfare Party of India Dr SQR Ilyas expressed great concern at the deteriorating democratic values and democratic spaces in the country, pointing out at the vandalism that shook the national capital during the farmers tractor rally he said, the farmers showed great forbearance for the past two months while exercising their constitutional right to protest peacefully against the contentious farm laws.
He alleged that the entire incident seemed to be state managed and blamed the center government for letting the situation to go out of control and pointed out at the police who failed in diligence of duty allowing the farmers to reach Red Fort, ITO and Nangloi and then using the force on the behest of home minister’s orders.
He said a proper investigation should take place and the miscreants who infiltrated the farmers rally and unfurled the flag besides the national flag and the political masters behind them should be made accountable for it and the innocent farmers booked for violation of lawful directions, rioting, damage to public property and attack on public servant and all other charges against them should be immediately dropped.
Dr Ilyas condemned the BJP government for introducing the contentious farm laws which are anti farmers and pro corporates and said they were introduced in the parliament against the federal policy of the states and without following the due procedure and said the government now adopting all possible tactics to forcefully implement them ignoring the farmers demand to roll them back.
