Welfare Party of India, strongly condemns the illegal detention of its leaders
National President of Welfare Party of India Dr. SQR Ilyas and other leaders and Cadre from different States who had come for training in Central training School, Delhi were detained by Delhi Police.
Delhi Police had given permission earlier to hold protest against “Bull Dozer Terrorism” and “Illegal arrest of Activist Teesta Setalvad and and Ex DJP Shreekumar” at Jantar Mantar today at 11:00 a.m.
Today morning the Police denied permission for the same and as our cadre alighted Bus, they were detained at Okhla itself near Party Office and taken to the Police Station and when National President and other leaders reached the Police Station to release them. They too were detained.
